Things about Skype

The Skype developers have released a new beta version of Skype 4.0 for Windows on their website. Skype 4.0 will be the upcoming new build of Skype that is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2009.

Skype is a popular VOIP (Voice Over IP) client that added many additional features like video conferencing or chat to the client in the last years.

One of the most notable changes for Skype 3 users are the interface changes that have been implemented. The interface looks much cleaner and professional when compared to the old Skype interface. Classic users on the other hand will be delighted to hear that it is possible to switch to the classic interface in the options.

Skype users will probably be interested in the changes that the new client will bring. Will it be worth the update from a previous version of Skype? While it might be a bit early for a final verdict the beta version does provide enough means to examine the new features and functions that have been added by the Skype team.
